Promt to enter user-placed portals

There would be a toggable setting to either auto-accept user placed portals or having a promt asking you if you wish to enter the placed portal. This would be great if people are blocking/trolling with portal placements.

Having to press confirm every time you enter a portal is pretty jarring. We actually tried this before launch and all of us hated it. Having that be a toggle in the system menu hides it from most people so the entire VRChat travel experience gets clunky. We talked through the design of having to USE a portal and that had issues too including if it was a toggle in the system menu. There were some other good ideas but the one that won out for the moment is not being able to back into or go sideways through a portal. Including short back and forward movements. We've also added the name of the user who spawned the portal to help call out those spawning them in a troll like manner.

Why not have it so you have to hold a button to permit user portal entry?
You still get the running into a portal thing, but you also get control over if you do.

John H: Can you elaborate some more?

Ron Millar (CCO and Design) : To enter a user-dropped portal you'd have to hold the menu button down while walking into the portal.

John H: Hmm.. the menu button is probably not a good solution. There's too many design issues if you drill down a bit. How would it (the menu button) know you're not trying to open the menu vs wanting to go through a portal? What if your back is near a portal and you are trying to open your menu? It's also a hidden interface/ui. People won't know about it or discover it easily if ever. I think a toggle on/off confirm dialog is maybe the way forward. It would not have a confirm on by default. You'd have to toggle it on as an advanced user. We can keep thinking on it.

This is a good idea and probably pretty easy to add. We'll look into it.
