SAFER conditions for commission artists and receiver
tracked

Allow commission artists to upload a model into the customer's account instead of the current "system" where both users are at risk
Allow an upload system, where on upload, the avatar/world would be sent to the recipient
"(artist) has sent you (avatar/world), Do you (recipient) wish to accept?"
it would be safer than giving usernames 'n passwords to individuals

A whitelist system, please! could straight up just replace the description field to input usernames since thats useless currently.

This would be nice to share avatars with friends and everything, but if I made an avatar for a friend I would just send them the unity package, as they should have access to the files.
Octuplex
Why not just give them the unitypackage file? They paid for it, it's their thing.
Salt Breaker
Octuplex: That's certainly the way I go about it.

Octuplex: I think there's a gradient here.
There's some people who, if given a unitypackage file, wouldn't be capable of installing the right version of Unity, VRCSDK, importing the package and uploading it. For those people, it would be nice if you could just send them a file which VRChat itself would just import without the need for Unity. It would of course be nice if this file were also usable as asset data for people who did know what they were doing.
Obviously VRM was already indicated as one potential format for this, as it's already in use between several applications for this purpose, but VRChat has its things that it supports that VRM does not, so they'd have to have their own extensions.

This is okay if the person being gifted is happy just having a copy of the avatar. However I know that if I commissioned an avatar then I would want the source files for the model as well so that I could make edits if I wanted to. This wouldn't really be possible using this system as you would just be given a copy of the avatar on the account and no access to the files of it.
This would be a great system for sharing avatars (for free) with friends but other than that it probably wouldn't be very practical.
WACOMalt
This would be cool, regardless of any sort of commission type situation. Sharing is caring :D
Casually Noted
As someone who just yesterday got a four year ban (hopefully temporarily) applied to my account for this exact kind of thing, I absolutely think this needs to happen.
rollthered
Its the same concept with users getting votekicked from lobbies. They eventually get banned for it if they annoy enough people, and i (The commissioner) Should not be held accountable for those actions.
Pokerface Cactus
rollthered: the whole point of this system is to prevent this.. right now if the one you're commisioning gets banned, you risk getting banned too because they logged in from your account so they assume it's an alt. (it's a risk, not a gaurantee) having a gift system would separate the commisioner and the creator so that if they creator causes shit the people using their avatars arn't going to be affected by it.
rollthered
Pokerface Cactus: Why would they log into my account if i sent them the unity package and walked them through the steps to upload? That is the way it is currently, and any other method such as logging into their account is against TOS.
rollthered
I'm not sure if this means much, But i dont want to be banned if i gift a user an avatar who later gets banned for stupid reasons that are out of my own control. This seems a bit dodgy for the commissioners to get a ban for other people doing bad things with the models. I'm not liable for if someone else becomes an annoyance with my own work.

MisterJerome
rollthered: i think through this system it would get rid of that since it clearly was a gift
ElfMom
the japanese seem to have this stuff figured out nicely. they just sell avatars on a marketplace.
But those aren't custom spec. you see a model you like and buy it
