making worlds in sections allows the ability for creators to build large worlds with low loading memory and massive performance improvements

VRChat is not able to handle 15 players in a empty world without FPS drops, so how do you expect big open worlds?
I would also like it, but the game is not ready for it.
Brandon Dean
Suiheisen: Actually, large open worlds can be made highly performant if the worldmaker knows what the hell they are doing. if you want good performance then you
HAVE
to have render occlusion, bake your lighting or keep dynamic lighting to a minimum and use LODs. Not to mention just like with avatars, keep the mesh renderers, materials, textures, shaders, and tessellation minimised as much as you possibly can.Suiheisen
Brandon Dean: For what you wanna make a big world? The most of the players are used to it to go everytime in the same worlds like great pug, box or what ever and playing mirror simulator - so there are very less potential players for it, that means it dont worth and VRChat is not developed to create big worlds.
btw. if you know how to set up LOD's they work correctly for VR users too, then please tell me how..
Brandon Dean
Suiheisen: Most players go to whose worlds because they're the most popular. At the same time, worlds like the great pug are also kinda resource intensive. Lag free box is super light on resources, and that's why it's popular. That doesn't mean you can't set or change the standard for a popular map in VRChat. It has and continues to be done. Just look at the popular tab on any given day, guaranteed there is a new world on there at least once every couple days!

Brandon Dean: You dont understand,
- look at all other worlds, there are a few very good ones too but these worlds have never become a new standard
- watch the players what they realy do every day....
you can only break they boring habits if you create an interactive system in your big worlds, the players need something to do if you wanna keep them, but because of no custom scripts this will never be possible... ok maybe we have a chance with their "udon"? or how ever it will be called, but we will see...
LunarLapNeko
don’t think it would be anytime soon as it requires server-space and global servers instead of only US servers like now

@Dawie
LunarLapNeko: almost all VRchat world are missing some basic elements to keep players interested, such as basic level design with clear differences in scale and change is level feeling. as all VRchat worlds are single levels its not easy to provide with such a limited tool box and even approaching a good design the performance is a major issue
