Clicking show/hide avatar doesnt update the interface icon for it, and neither the avatar.
if you click show on a hidden avatar, it works if they change avatar.

Experienced the same. The Show/Hide toggle seemed to work but the UI highlight didn't update unless you closed and opened the menu again. Then the toggle would only "take" when that person changed avatars. Here Splinks' avatar started as invisible for me, we tried to figure out the show/hide. https://www.twitch.tv/videos/429957813?t=01h11m47s
