A Basic Stylized Shader for Mobile
in progress

Something I feel that a lot of quest users have been missing out on has been stuff in the shader department. Although there have been improvements to the standard lite shader, at times that isn't enough, as well as how most of the shaders for quest users are similar to unity's default shaders. I feel it would be a decent consideration to have a simple yet stylized shader from VRChat could solve this issue a bit, and possibly help with mixing some properties like toon shading with PBR elements or using more than 1 uv channel for tiling+masking purposes.

I am on the sdk beta 3 and am using the new quest shader, and let me say it is amazing. I have been quest converting for 6 years, and this shader changes the entire game. Before, quest materials could do one thing at a time. Color change, matcap, emission, but they couldn't do it all in one material. This new shader has matcap masks!! Actual proper hue shift!! Along with the upgraded standard lite's metallic and smoothness actually working, both with their own maps (glorious). And rim light was thrown in there too because why not. What a very rich and jampacked shader to just drop on us after quest has had such a barren landscape of shading options.
The only thing I would ask is if the rim light could be set between multiply and add, instead of just add. that is all. but the shader is already amazing so no pressure.

We're working on a new shader!
VRChat/Mobile/Toon Standard
is a new mobile-compatible toon shader. It even has a hue shift feature!Smash-ter
Fax that's honestly cool! Is it okay to make a few requests for the new mobile toon shader?

Smash-ter: Of course! Though I would recommend creating a separate Canny post for it, and waiting until we have released the shader. That'll make it easier for us to follow up on individual requested changes.
