Hello! I've been trying the new avatar 3.0 beta with Vive wands and I've noticed something that is quite annoying to deal with.
If you're not in swipe select, you have to choose with the touchpad but select with the trigger, that separation of action is very very confusing from an UX perspective as the Vive wand touchpad was
made
to be pressed.
I've seen feedback from someone who was stuck because they accidently deactivated swipe select and couldn't figure out you had to press the trigger.
Would it be possible to have Thumbstick/Touchpad press be considered as a click on the new menu alongside the trigger? That way every other controller scheme keeps the Thumbstick + Trigger aspect but Vive wands can benefit from Touchpad + Touchpad press aspect which is a thousand time more intuitive.
Furthermore it unlocks an option to do Thumbstick + Thumbstick press for other controller schemes, if they so desire.
