My Experience So Far With VCC
needs more information

Kind of scared to see, that soon, we will be, "forced" to use VCC only. My statement is based off of the terrible experiences I have been having right off the bat. I am fully aware of the, Windows 11 warning, however, Windows 11 is what's in now, and growing in popularity. Kind of ridiculous to base this new method off of Windows 10 only. But, non the less, I am using Windows 11, and am hoping that the issues I am experiencing, are related to just that. First, I attempted using VCC. VCC created the folder on my Desktop, and when I chose to, I believe it was labeled, "Open Project", first Unity attempted to open, then closed, then HUB opened, with nothing showing. So, from within HUB, I manually opened the folder that VCC had just created. Again, Unity started to open, and closed again, and HUB opened again. This process continues, never to open the project that VCC had created. So, secondly, I then attempted doing it manually by opening the, UdonSharp Template method from within HUB. This time Unity started, and went the whole way, as I am assuming it was supposed to. Only thing is, once the template finished loading, and Unity had download everything that it had asked me for, as you can see in this screen shot link, I had the VRChat file menu, but nothing relating to VRChat in my assets. I was dumbfounded. Currently sitting at 0 for 2, as far as the latest, greatest way to get our SDK's installed. There is no way I am going back to Windows 10, just to get all of this to work. Please, do not deprecate the SDK3's that are available for download from the VRChat.com website. Those are all, some of us, have to work with.

Hi shotrag! I'm sorry to hear that you're having issues with the Creator Companion.
The information you provided is very dense, but I'll try to answer it bit by bit. Please let me know if you have any questions, or if there's something I didn't answer.
I don't think your issues are caused by Windows 11, so there's no need for you to roll back your operating system.
It's strange that Unity Hub opens on its own after you created the VCC project...
This might be related to the VCC being launched with administrative privileges, which may have interfered with Unity somehow. Would you mind checking your
Editor.log
file after Unity fails to open the project? https://docs.unity3d.com/Manual/LogFiles.html> I had the VRChat file menu, but nothing relating to VRChat in my assets.
That's correct, actually! VRChat's SDK is no longer in the
Assets
folder. You should find it in Packages
instead. Could you please check if you can find the SDK in that folder?shotrag
Fax: Fax, thank you for reviewing the issue that I am encountering. So that you may see exactly what is happening, I made a screen capture video of how, and what I am doing, to better help you, help me. In this video, you will see that neither option, VCC, nor manual template is working for me, and, in the video, I open the Editor.log for you to see. Once again Fax, thanks:

shotrag: Thank you for the video, that's awesome!

I think Unity Hub wants you to activate your license. I'm not sure what prompted it to ask for it, but would you mind trying to follow these activation steps? https://support.unity.com/hc/en-us/articles/211438683-How-do-I-activate-my-license-

Fax: Fax, once again thank you for your guidance. A couple things to mention. I did exactly as you asked, and went to that link, and followed verbatim, however, as you'll see in my screen capture link, my, "Personal" license, within HUB, was already activated, and working as intended. Second, pertaining to my Editor.log error message, the top half of the message states that my, "Current license is already valid and activated", but yet, the next following message states, "License is not active". How can that be? And lastly, just so you are aware, if I use HUB to start an instance of Unity, it does it perfectly. And then I download the SDK3 World from VRChat.com, and load the SDK3 within Unity, and it comes up perfect. Everything works as it should, which is why the, "New" methods NOT working, is confusing me. My Unity, my HUB, and the SDK3's all work for me, just not VCC, or the new templates, as you saw in my video.

shotrag: We currently suspect that this bug is specific to Windows 11. We're looking into it! 👏
shotrag
Fax: Fax, thank you, and if at all possible, please keep me in the loop with any findings that you guys come up with, so I know when to start trying again.

03.27.2023 Update
Starting with version v2.0, and up, the program finally started working for me. However, even with the latest version, v2.0.3, if I try to open the newly created package by clicking on, “Open Project”, from the, “Projects” Tab, within Creator Companion, it still does not work for me.
The way I have to start the project, once it is created, is by opening HUB, click, “Open”, and then open the new projects folder, …then it works like it is supposed to.
