Give Public avatars a “pedestal only” option

With the new cloning feature: Allow avatar creators to set a “pedestal only” option so that avatars can still be used as quest rewards or Easter eggs for special avatars in worlds, for example.

So seeing as vrc banned me for calling them out on this, this canny was first suggested in 2018. Just about 4 years ago. FOUR. And has just around 1K upvotes since then, with plenty of similar threads merged in, no doubt. As well as acknowledgement from VRC. Well where is the feature? Since you're so keen on reminding us while banning mods, that you try "your best" to implement requested features? Because even mods wouldn't fix this one. And it still has never been addressed. And there's plenty of requested qol features that need addressing and have similarly, a lot of attention, that take forever to be addressed, or never do, because I get it- vrc has different priorities internally- all the while, simple mods and tweaks that could address them right now, even if as stopgaps while vrc circles back around to them in their own time- are now tossed under the bus along with the skiddies and rippers, as if they were all the same thing.

Coming back to this again as I got to first hand witness users 'trading' favorited avatar cloning. Which means never having to go to an avatar world to get the avatar. Which is fine and all the reason to have it be a toggle the uploader can assign on upload. But it should be an option so that if a creator specifically only wants it to be obtainable from a world they should be able to like if they want the person to see credits information that was hosted in the world for example.

how about a new parameter for avatar uploads:
Shareable : Private (Uploader) - Specific(by UserID) - Friends (Friends Only) - Public (Anyone, or via Pedestal...)
i am very unsure of the complexity to implement, but it goes along the line of this post, and has a couple more settings to make sharing avatar more flexible for different creators. no more sharing Password and AuthTokens for avatar creators, too ~!

Let's swap this back to Open. That doesn't mean anything other than "leaving stuff as planned for almost a year seems annoying". It makes people think that we're working on it right now and it is on the way out soon. It isn't.
...but we're still considering this and it is still a good idea. I just want Custom Statuses from Canny, thank you very much! 😡 Would love to set things as "Under Consideration" or "Tracked Internally".
Definitely want to add this in some way eventually. There's actually a few avatar release types I've thought up, just while I've been typing this.

Absolutely this, would definitely help drive traffic(of those who aren't too lazy and will just rip it) to the worlds that these avatars are rewards for.
Obviously Ripping is still going to be an issue since the avatars are stored locally in the cache. But for those who just use VRChat and don't do stuff like that, it would be a great reward for the end of like a puzzle map

My community also uses public avatars to share avatar between select individuals, and this would be a godsend, to save us the hassle of having to remove and re-upload avatars whenever the wrong person gets their hands on one, through either somebody leaving their cloning on or people using clients to clone them.
At the same time it will bring back the ability for maps to have rewarded avatars at the end of a difficult trial because people won't just be able to clone them and will make the reward more meaningful.

Still wouldn't fix the fact people can use programs like VRCX to access and download these avatars anyways.

I am sick of people just grabbing my Public Avatars with things like AvatarFavMod, while I dont wanna share them with everyone, they are set to public so they work on pedestals on my world. And people can just run around look for my Account Name and grab all my Public Avatars with that Mod.

Raphfilia: mods/programs like that would still be able to grab them. Pedestal only would still mean it has a public status which therefore means that programs would be able to access the ID and clone/download it.
