[Feedback/Request] Lock IK When a Tracker Turns Off
complete
ZenithVal
When an tracker dies or turns off on legacy, the lower full body IK freezes and it's a lot less jarring.
On the 2.0 IK whenever a single tracker dies you go extreme yoga mode. The tracking point will swap with another or something like that. IE: Hip dies and snaps to foot or visa versa.

This post pertained more to the automatic re-assigning of trackers ~ as mentioned below, that's fixed out now. If you're still looking for the "feature" that was the freezing of IK, you can vote on this post ~ https://vrchat.canny.io/vrchat-ik-20/p/11748-freezinglocking-ik-feature

Trackers should no longer swap to the incorrect tracker on device disconnects

I think trackers dying could use a bit more graceful handling in general. It would make the most sense to just lock the limb that the tracker is attached to, or even partially revert it to procedural motion. Or maybe automatically swap to 3pt when 6pt fails. Don't throw away useful tracking data when one tracker dies. Mixing IK solutions seamlessly sounds complicated though.

Floatharr: Switching tracking types automatically upon one of the trackers dying is something I would be sad to see. The ability to lock in a 6pt pose is actually something very useful as Rak mentioned below. It'd be a shame to lose. It allows you get in a comfy position and turn off the trackers; so if you wanted to watch a movie while not being scuffed & or while enjoying a blanket IRL it's easy to do so.

ZenithVal: A freeze IK button feels like the best option then to allow yourself to stay in whatever position you want and still handle trackers going offline more gracefully.
Instead of relying on accidental behavior like the entire IK freezing if one tracker/controller is lost, we should be asking what was it about it that people actually liked, and implement that as a feature that is actually thought out.

Floatharr: It happening when trackers were lost though had the benefit of the "feature" automagically activating whenever you enter under a blanket (if done gently enough that trackers don't fly off into the distance), and just as well automagically reactivating as you get out of said blanket

Yes please. I sleep in VR and typically would turn off my trackers to freeze my body in whatever comfy position I wanted so I could then take off my trackers and sleep. On the new beta IK system, turning off a tracker just makes my body contort rather than freeze. Freezing the body would be preferable.

Rakㅤ: Freezing ones position when turning trackers off is almost an accidental feature.

xantoz・ザントス: yes, but a good one for those of us who sleep in vr

Rakㅤ: Yes. That's what I meant :-)
