I've been informed People have been selling their 18+ verified accounts to minors

Please update VRChat's login data to let the users track where their logins are coming from, both for the staff and for the common VRC user. Doing this will catch a few people whom have at least said their accounts have been hacked as well as catch those whom sell their accounts with significantly strange login data. Kind of like that one "Find My Device" for Google but for VRC users.

This stems from one and one thing only, a bunch of *diots giving their ID's to random mods on random Community servers for age verification.
What did they think was gonna happen?
Natural selection imo. Ban accounts that try to verify from 2 vividly different locations with the same ID.

Frankly speaking, that sort of crime is commonplace. It’s no different from kids stealing their parents' alcohol or begging older people for cigarettes—and adults actually giving it to them. Unless you handcuff everyone and keep them under 24-hour surveillance, people are bound to commit crimes or get caught up in them. Ultimately, wrongdoers keep their misdeeds quiet, and acts committed in secret cannot be reported. No matter how many laws you enact, a country where the police and parents fail to step up is never going to produce rational children; without the foundation of proper upbringing, the system itself is meaningless. True justice isn't about striking a heroic pose while championing a system that is impossible to enforce. I’m not saying we should just turn a blind eye, of course, but going to such extremes only leaves a lot of people feeling resentful, while the bad guys simply carry on with their misdeeds quietly.
Let’s focus on what’s actually feasible. Teach others to make friends who follow the rules and to avoid siding with wrongdoers. Or, at the very least, don’t raise people who would lend a hand to such things.
Well, I’ll let you in on a little secret: the real problem lies with the laws and the state for shifting the responsibility for wrongdoing onto the platforms.

I dunno if it is a feature already, but all 18+ age assured accounts should have 2FA enabled, mandatory. If there is a speck of evidence that a minor has gotten access to an 18+ account, it shows the true owner deliberately gave it to them.

+1 from me. as adult it is our responsibility to protect minors no matter what. anyone who doesn't care enough to say anything is part of the problem. period. PROTECT MINORS VRC. stop letting creeps get away with these things!

For anyone saying the home IP tracking will prevent sold accounts, are not aware how the internet and WAN IPs work.
I work rural IT support. Not with any big company. I do house calls to SMBs (Small Medium Businesses), and to homes. I see a variety of users, issues, and environments.
Vast majority of Internet Subscribers, do not have a Static IP. A Static IP is an IP assigned to you, that should never change. I say Should, some scenarios come up, and some ISPs manage this different...it's a headache.
Back on the simple track... Homes very rarely keep the same IP. Most times, the IP's last segment will rotate, sometimes the whole thing. Sometimes once a month, quarterly, or weekly pending how often the modem is restarted.
I have two ISPs in my town area, your IP might start with (throwing generic numbers to explain) 108.x.x.x, then next month be 64.x.x.x. When I do speed tests, half the time it's my local town appearing, sometimes it's the capital, or the next state over. I live in Oklahoma, on Optimum (aka Suddenlink back when), many times I come up as on Altice instead of Optimum, sometimes I come up in Texas where Suddenlink's headquarters was. Then you toss in users who use a VPN.
This is why Real Perm Bans by IP is no longer "as effective" as it used to be. Either a restart of your modem/router (pending equipment and ISP), contacting your ISP, or for those advanced enough to know how to, masking your MAC Address forcing a new IP.

fuck no why do you want them to have more data and tracking on us thats weird asf

Yikes. VRChat needs to handle the group and crack down on any others. I saw this coming from a mile away, though. Age verification is not a perfect system and has other concerning issues, but it's all we really have at the moment to keep minors safe online since their parents don't wanna do the bare minimum.

whar the hell yikes

It would be great to be able to see if there's unusual login attempts on your own account, and vrc staff being able to track it as well would help with the problem of someone else age verifying for others.

VRC already has an issue with predators and I can't believe that there are people who are against systems to prevent minors from accessing the 18+ sections. Adding my support, but also, VRC needs to be IP-banning the people caught selling their verified 18+ accounts.
