It would be nice to have instances or groups that require joining members to have a self-identified DOB over 18 years old on their account, but not require verification. In addition, add a button to report user as underaged if they self identify incorrectly. If found to be underage, then verification would be the only way for the account to regain 18+ status. This is more a kin to have verification has worked for social media and online games in the past.

There are major privacy concerns with the chosen verification provider. Unverified instances/groups would allow easy side stepping of these issues. Personally, I don’t understand the need for verification. Why is verification legally needed given VRChat doesn’t not typically allow explicit adult content?
