[1270] If a user joins a group and doesn't have a role auto-assigned to them, they cannot have roles added, be kicked or be banned from the group they've joined.

I'm assuming that this is accomplished by deleting the default 'Members' role. Here are some steps that I did to replicate it:
Creating the group...
- Create an invite only group
- Have private visibility
- Set the new group roles as "Managed Invite-Only"
-Finish creating the group
After the group is created...
- Delete All the roles that you can
- Create a new role not named 'Member'
- Invite someone and have them join
After the person joins, Try to do anything to the user like adding roles.

The most recent set of Groups changes include the ability to flag roles to be added on join (and this exposes that on the existing Member role):
That change also includes the Everyone role which serves as generic global default that is always automatically applied to all members.

Groups Bug: Deleting a role causes newer members to be bugged.
Lunart
Via Website: I made the group using the default preset, after I got one moderation role made it would automatically assign to new members.
Attempting to fix it by deleting the role and making a new one to be default caused newer members to be softlocked from getting roles and cannot assign one themselves.
Now that these members are considered softlocked, I am unable to kick them from the group to attempt to fix the issue.

I too have had this bug. Wanted to delete the default to create a new default role, and was surprised to find that meant they were forever role-less.

Also, a way to see and change which role is auto-assigned to new users would be appreciated.

Groups Feedback: Cannot remove group member thus cannot delete group
Emma Torch
Been testing this all from the VRC website, so nothing in game itself:
If you create a role and then delete the default member role, new members do not get assigned a role by default. This prevents you from assigning them ANY role. It also prevents you from kicking/banning them if you need to delete the group. The only option is for them to leave your group.
