All avatars (own and others) show as Error robot - AnalysisReport fails with "Remote server closed the connection"
tracked
覆屋/Fukuya
Since around 16:00-18:30 JST on Nov 4, 2026, every avatar fails to load for me, including my own avatars and all other players in public instances. They all appear as the Error robot.
The output log shows this for every avatar:
- "The response was null. State: Error / Remote server closed the connection before sending response header!"
- "[AnalysisReport] Failed to get avatar analysis report."
- "[AssetBundleDownloadManager] Avatar 'avtr_...' did not pass initial checks and won't be downloaded: AssetBundleFailedServerSideChecks"
Worlds, login and social features work normally. Avatars loaded fine earlier the same day (the log from 12:33-16:02 JST shows normal avatar loading).
What I tried (no change):
- Restarting VRChat and the PC
- Deleting the Cache-WindowsPlayer folder
- Flushing DNS
- Switching to a different network (mobile tethering)
- No VPN, no third-party antivirus (Windows Defender only, nothing blocked), hosts file is default
Platform: Windows PC (Steam)

I am experiencing the same issue on Meta Quest 3S (standalone).
Since November 4, 2026, my own avatar and all Android-compatible avatars have been replaced with the ERROR robot.
Worlds, voice chat, and other functions work normally. Avatar thumbnails and friends' profile images are displayed correctly, but 3D avatars cannot load.
I have already tried:
- Restarting the headset and VRChat multiple times
- Clearing the VRChat cache
- Connecting through a different network using mobile hotspot
- Using "Show Avatar" on friends
None of these steps fixed the issue.
VRChat version: 2026.4.1p1-299983b13b-Release
Could you investigate whether this is a Quest standalone issue?

All avatars become error avatars: analysis report request fails on SoftBank Air
へいぐも
Description
Since Nov 4, 2026, every avatar becomes an error avatar on my home connection. It happens with public sample avatars too, and on a second account. Avatars should download and display normally.
Log (repeats for every avatar, none are downloaded):
Remote server closed the connection before sending response header! Previous request state: Processing. Connection state: WaitForRecycle
[AnalysisReport] Failed to get avatar analysis report.
[AssetBundleDownloadManager] Avatar did not pass initial checks and won't be downloaded: AssetBundleFailedServerSideChecks
Download Error: An error occured while checking analysis results. | 10
AmplitudeAPI Experiments requests fail in-game with the same error.
Submitting this bug report from in-game also failed on SoftBank Air with the same error (BugReport submit returned no postUrl). This report was sent over mobile tethering instead.
Network: fails on SoftBank Air (5G home router, AS17676). The same PC works on mobile tethering. On SoftBank Air, curl from the same PC reaches api.vrchat.cloud normally, including the analysis endpoint (401 without login), so the failure seems limited to requests made by the VRChat client.
Other users appear to be reporting the same symptoms on X.
Reproduction Steps
- Connect the PC to SoftBank Air.
- Start VRChat and switch to any avatar, including public sample avatars.
- The avatar becomes an error avatar. The log shows the errors above.
Happens every time, also after reinstalling, clearing the cache, restarting the PC and router, re-login, a second account, and removing security software.
Workaround: connect the PC to mobile tethering.

All avatars showing as Error Robots – AnalysisReport connection failure
あおたろ
Hello VRChat Support Team,
I am experiencing an issue where all avatars, including my own and other users' avatars, appear as Error Robots in VRChat.
This issue started around November 4, 2026. I can log in and join worlds normally, and world assets such as images and photographs load correctly. However, avatars fail to load in almost every world I visit.
System Information
- OS: Windows 11 Pro 25H2
- OS Build: 26200.9711
- CPU: Intel Core i5-13400F
- GPU: NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3060
- RAM: 32 GB
- VRChat Platform: Steam
- VRChat Build: 2026.4.1p1-1937-299983b13b
- Network Region: Japan
Troubleshooting Steps Already Tried
- Restarted VRChat and my PC.
- Cleared the VRChat cache.
- Uninstalled and reinstalled VRChat.
- Tested using a mobile hotspot instead of my usual internet connection.
- Confirmed that I am not using a VPN.
- Confirmed that I do not have any third-party antivirus software installed.
- Checked Windows Defender Firewall settings. VRChat and Steam are listed as allowed apps.
- I have not manually changed my firewall settings.
Unfortunately, none of these steps resolved the issue.
Relevant Log Errors
The VRChat logs repeatedly show the following errors:
Remote server closed the connection before sending response header!
[AnalysisReport] Failed to get avatar analysis report.
AssetBundleFailedServerSideChecks
Download Error: An error occurred while checking analysis results.
The logs also show that the API and CDN status checks return "pong", but avatar analysis requests continue to fail.
I also found reports from other users experiencing very similar symptoms around the same time.
Could you please investigate whether this might be related to an issue with the avatar analysis service or its connection?
I have attached my VRChat log file for further investigation.
Thank you for your time and assistance.
