Audio Source Pops on Quick Repetitive audio

When playing audio quickly, there's sometimes "spike" in volume at the start of a clip regardless of using Animator play audio or animating the source on.
Logarithmic Volume Rolloff being used seems to correlate with the issue.

Equip the rifle in the radial menu items, set fire rate to 100. Click infinite ammo. Use right hand fist gesture to fire.

On the test avatar, the audio doesn't pop if the rifle has a custom volume rolloff that falls to 0 instead of the default logarithmic.
On my test avatar, I'm also animating the pitch but it should only be adjusted when not firing in the state before. Maybe it's the previous audio playing on that source popping?
