Forward slashes not filtered correctly in status and bio
complete
Squid
When entering a forward slash into your bio (/) it is replaced with a fraction slash (⁄ U+2044). This is fine, however due to filtering of status and bios preventing the entry of unicode characters, the fraction slash is then filtered out the next time the user edits their bio with the new fraction slash in it.
It would be preferable that the fraction slash not be filtered out when saving your status, since it was but there by the API in the first place.
This may be a separate issue, but a user’s status does not sub the forward slash for the fraction slash while the bio does, so nothing resembling a forward slash can be entered into a user’s status.
The pictures bellow are of the status with a regular slash, followed by the fraction slash appearing after saving, then saving again without making any edits.

I am surprised no one noticed this sooner

MehStrongBadMeh: I noticed this a long while ago, just throught it was an intentional design decision to prevent URLs in bios. had no idea the API was supposed to replace the character instead..
Salbug
Table: Basically this. Noticed this a while back but thought it was all intentional.

Just want to note that backslashes are appropriately replaced in both bios and user status, as well as their unicode counterpart that gets subbed in is retained upon subsequent edits of both the bio and status. This issue only appears to affect forward slashes as far as I can tell.

I've always had some issues with the weird way formatting is handled with statues and bios especially with forward slashes. Sometimes they get filtered out but they usually seem to show back up whenever I re-log back into the app.
Squid
Salbug: can confirm it is not an app issue, rather an api issue. It is also not related to the display of slashes, but the filtering of them api-side after the recent api update which filters unicode characters. How recently did you update your bio?
Salbug
Squid: Ah I see. I last updated it about maybe half a week ago
I believe?
