Friend updates (and more) stale indefinitely after hours

When playing VRChat for several hours, sometimes even just over an hour, friends in the menu stop updating. This includes statuses, locations, and even friend requests. I regularly have to use the website to accept friend requests and need to restart my client multiple times a day to be able to join others. This may affect other types of updates as well such as groups.
I'm using Linux and a few other Linux friends report the same issue, however there are a few Windows users who also experience this. Our best guess is that the API websocket doesn't properly reconnect leaving the client in a stale state.

vrc support advised me to disable ipv6 to mitigate the issue, but it didn't seem to help. sometimes i go for days without the issue, while other times it can happen as soon as i log on. most of the time its within a few hours of gameplay
for me, parts of the game that break are specifically
- unable to recieve notifications at all, including friend invites and requests
- incorrect friend status states, friends could go offline and be seen as online, and vice versa, this extends to user nameplates in world as well (offline status nameplates are an interesting sight). most of the time the menu just shows the friend incorrectly being shown as in a private instance, but i also sometimes see them in 0 player instances, giving a 403 error upon trying to join
- incorrect group instance states, including 0 player 403 error instances, or the same group instance duplicating and appearing multiple times. if i were to suspect anything to be breaking this, please check here, because duplicating ghost group instances is the ONLY thing that actually continues to compound and duplicate while in this bugged state, everything else just doesnt try to update at all.
the issue seems to be entirely a client based issue that mostly affects the social tab (and notifications). i've never observed any public instance in the world tab being incorrect or outdated, but it doesnt list non-public instances that you should have access to join. friends never have issues joining onto my instance, or seeing my status even if my client is bugged (unless they are unforunate enough to also be affected by this bug of course)
using the website always works as a reliable fallback for seeing friend states & seeing notifications, it never breaks like how the ingame menus do. you do have to restart vrchat to actually join though, as self inviting through the website also does not work.

happens to me and has for around 6 months

this has been happening to me too for a couple months now, both unity 6 and mainline version. running in cachyos and the usual things recommended for network issues didn't work.

this happens to me all the time on linux and on windows, friends get depressed cause they think i'm ignoring them.
I am curious if it has to do with the menu being a unity object rather then being part of the client its self, as you can still see people in game and such but all the in game menu functions cease working entirely.

Can you provide logs?

StormRel I collected logs with --enable-sdk-log-levels up until the bug started happening. I can't find anything. Can I share it somehow without posting it here?

This happens to me on Windows as well.
