Gifting VRC+ silently fails often // stuck spinning

Steps:
While in PC VR, select a user, and click "gift vrchat+" then with the 1 month option selected, press "purchase gift sub for XXX"
Issue:
After clicking this it often just spins, and nothing happens. No error messages or feedback on whether it failed or succeeded.
Other:
VRC is probably losing a lot of potential money from this. This whole process has a lot of unnecessary friction, and could be made better. A simple suggestion is to allow purchasing of VRC+ with VRChat credits to cut out all the third party stuff (steam, paypal, etc) so it can truly be a "1 button press" thing.
It's hard to debug since I don't want to hammer at an issue that costs real money, so I don't have more useful info. Sometimes it does succeed and works as intended, but that's rare.

Are you seeing this issue _after_ or _before_ the Steam overlay for purchasing pops up? It's known that when you launch VRChat outside of Steam (i.e. just double-clicking
launch.exe
or via the VRC Quick Launcher tool) the steam overlay will not open.lightbulb4

the behavior the past few times is simply that I click the button and it spins as if its processing and that's it. There's no indication of an overlay opening, I don't recall seeing a purchasing pop up at any point (don't recall whether it'd appear on my desktop monitor OR the VR steam overlay stuff, but I would more than likely have seen it as I take my headset off frequently and also view my steam menu during VR sessions)

For me, the last time I attempted to purchase VRC+ to gift it, it worked and worked well. This is not always the case. In the past, I would be in PCVR mode and I would get entirely through checkout and then the payment would just spin for 5+ minutes and not go through. It appears that it may be that the Steam overlay is performance heavy on the computer or freezes up? I had this happen to a friend recently. My recommendation for him (because it worked for me to get VRC+) was to go into desktop mode. He left VRC, relaunched in desktop mode, purchased VRC+ through steam in game, closed VRC again, and launched again in PCVR mode.

+1, I've definitely abandoned gifting attempts due to this issue before :/

bd_ Same, not only have I abandoned attempts due to friction (i.e. I don't want to go through all these steps right now) but also I'll hit the purchase button and it spins so I leave the menu not wanting to wait some indefinite amount of time and the later on I realize "wait, that never worked did it". Many times for both cases
