I just logged in, and on joining a world called Waterfall HD I attempted to enter a room on the left with a mirror where my friends were only to be blocked from entering the room when the holoport laser turned red. I had to disable holoporting to be able to enter the room at all.
In The Pug, I experienced the same issue. I could not enter past the front desk without disabling holoporting. Anywhere inside the bar, my tracking laser would be red, and I could not move in the direction I was indicating. My avatar wanted to slide to the left along an invisible collision box that took me behind the bar.
And in both Moody and the Pug, I experienced a massive frame rate drop whenever my avatar went into the third person video while holoporting. We're talking going from 90fps to 15fps on a 1070.
For whatever reason I did not experience the same frame rate drop in the default home world when holoporting there.
I also noticed that holoporting now seems less responsive. I can't make my avatar run quickly in circles any more.
It's also annoying having the laser turn red when I am pointing at a location the game thinks I can't reach, because it happens all the time. I have gotten into the habit of pointing not where my desired destination is, but in the general direction of where I want to run, and so if I am moving around in any sort of confined space, my laser is constantly turning red.
And while the animation of the arrows pointing at the destination look nice, they kinda make moving about less immersive than it was before. If anything I'd have liked the holoporting indicators to be less obtrusive, not more so. People already disable name tags to make the game more immersive, and this seems like a move in the opposite direction.
