Networked IK completely fails in long running Instances
complete
ElfMom
Aside from the bad interpolation resulting in some laggy looking movement, There seems to be some kind of bug whereby the networked IK system just completely falls apart if an instance goes on too long, possibly with too many people being a factor.
All but 1 or 2 of the people in this clip are in VR, and a good chunk of them are in full body. They are all jittering around and all of them look like they are desktopping.
This happened twice to us. Once we moved to another world it cleared up, (leaving and rejoining the affected instance does not fix it, and in fact, upon leaving the instance, you get a disconnect error as you fade to black, and you spawn at your destination in the default grey robot man.) but after a while in the new world, the problem reared it's head again. People freezing in place and then teleporting and jittering around, and in desktop mode. (And a disconnect error on exit+grey robot man avatar on load in)

This particular bug has been solved-- if not directly, then by the fact we've completely revamped the networking system and it probably got handled during that revamp.
However, some users are observing similar behavior albeit with different symptoms and different causes. If you're observing strange movements or behavior related to IK, please create a new Feedback post with video, output logs, etc!

Tupper - VRChat Head of Community: This is still an issue.
Quality
in the debug overlay gradually drops from 0.95ish to 0.10-0.20 after a few (6-10) hours and everyone in the instance has a laggy movement until rejoining the instance which resets the quality back to 0.95ish. I have a few recordings of this happening, will cut this together and open a new bug report.Tupper - VRChat Head of Community
Fusl: Yeah, that'd definitely a separate issue. The OP's issue was tied to an entire instance, yours seems to be tied to a personal amount of time spent in any instance.
GotoFinal
https://twitter.com/ThatGotoFinal/status/1247074277809180673 it even affects small long running instances, these people just joined to instance where I was for last 10 hours... and they just bug around whole room

This can be seen happening in the Pug pretty often. The whole thing falls apart and everyone has to leave because everyone's movement starts to update as slowly as 0.2fps or so. This also means people aren't where you think, when you try and talk to them. It gets super confusing.

This issue occurs frequently for my friends' world, which normally contains about 40+ people and where is used for about 1 hour, or more.
From my sight, despite actual movements of people, they are freezed but a bit shaking per a few frames.
During this effect, there're tons of flowing logs (non-stop!) about
failed to adjust pose
for everybody in the world. At the beginning of the phenomena, the logs tell that Ping/Delay/ShortBy values are about 0.2/0.6/0.6 respectively.
Those values increases as time elapsed, in fact it eventually became about 170/170/440 respectively after 10 minutes.
I hope this info to be useful. This problem is critical for some communities, contains us.
Note: my env is i7-4790, GeForce GTX 980, 16.0GB. Some friends have reported that improving PC specs helped to resolve the issue.
Additional Note: Changing avatar from humanoid to generic looks causing a
failed to adjust pose
log per second. The entire problem lies another point I think.ElfMom
I'd just like to say that it's appalling how this still hasn't been fixed or improved upon after effectively TWO MONTHS now. Hell it's barely been addressed or really discussed in any great detail, when it's a game breaking bug
long running instances still fall apart.
in fact, it was worse, as this time there was even de-syncing issues, where people couldn't hear me because i was somewhere else for them, and vice versa. Or I'd hear someone talking to thin air, and they wouldnt hear me when i asked who they were talking to. (And I did check, noone in the room had me blocked)

These bugs are always replicated everyday in the particular world instance at the particular time.

Had this happen to me yesterday, for me it was just like what you see in the clip

I don't if it's the same thing, but a very similar thing like this has been happening since before the update. People would just come to a stop and only switching worlds fixes it.

Had the same issue, but for me everyone just froze, Visemes kept moving and I could hear them, but no movement whatsoever, nothing.
