When checking under the VCC its still showing the material count as it would be if it was including particles. When checking the stats for the same avatar that was uploaded to VRchat it is not showing the particle systems adding to the material count since the latest update. This has been tested and observed with multiple avatars and many other creators. If this is expected behavior it was not mentioned in the patch notes of the latest update.
