On the calendar, there is a bit of confusion between entries that represent an event series and entries that are event occurrences within that series. Event Series entries always auto-generate for the next upcoming occurrence and auto-delete when the occurrence is over, which is fine behaviour.

The main issue is that there is no differentiation between the two in the client, and this leads to duplicate notifications when events start and duplicate entries when linking an instance to an event.
