Wings causes FPS drop, turn them off boosts performance

Saw a post on X that claimed wings caused a performance drop. I tested this out in my homeworld. I started at ~65FPS and after turn them off I climbed over 100+ FPS. This was tested in desktop.
After re-opening the wings, the FPS remains stable at 100+ FPS.
