Age verification, Adult spaces, Ban waves & NSFW content

Feature Requests,
- Age Verified 18+ only, worlds; if you are not verified you cant join or open an instance of a world listed 18+
- Age Verified 18+ only, Groups; A group setting allowing you to set it to 18+ only, for players who aren't verified the banner, posts, description, rules ect. should be empty or have the placeholder "planet" banner.
- Age Verified 18+ only, User profiles; I want to have funny adult jokes in my bio, I cant rn. status, pronounce, icon, picture & bio. Profiles set to be 18+ should appear empty & have basic placeholder or default pictures.
- Age Verified 18+ only, Stickers/Prints; A verified account should be able to select an 18+ tag during the uploading of a sticker/print, making it only visibel to other 18+ verified players.
- Age Verified 18+ only, Avatars; The ability to set an avatar to 18+ during or after upload, 18+ avatars should not load in when used in a 18+ group instance or world. 18+ avatars should be hidden or shown as a fall back when using content gating while inside of an 18+ group instance or world.
I wasn't sure if I should even be posting this because I felt like there are so many other requests about 18+ avatars and groups, I felt like I had something to add that I didn't see in other requests and felt like grouping everything together was the right idea, especially since the most active posts are posted on 2019 and felt outdated.

I'd take it a step further and make it so any instance, group, or avatar marked as 18+ is not even visible anywhere in game or on the website to people who are not 18+ verified.
- If Group A is marked as 18+ by the owner of the group, then if someone who is not 18+ verified searches for groups inside of VRChat, it won't even show on the list even if they search directly for it. They'd be unable to join it even if they somehow found it.
- If someone is using an avatar they uploaded and marked as 18+, then that avatar will be a fallback to anyone not 18+ verified no matter their shield settings; and even if that avatar could be made safe with toggles. Also, marking your avatar as 18+ would automatically make it non-public.
- If someone creates an instance that is 18+ verified only, then it would never show on instance lists for that world or anywhere else for someone who is not 18+ verified. If a non-verified friend sees you on their friend list and you are in an 18+ world, they would simply see you in "Private" and would not be able to join or request on you, no matter your status.

No-Me This is great, I agree with this. I wanted to keep it simple in my original post to leave room for this concept to be expanded on, I could also understand that doing it like this would be a lot more complicated (I'm not a coder but it looks like a lot more work) so I rather have something simple that works. But this is a great idea and I would love for it if it would work this way.

dont ask for more age verification until they learn to stop trusting persona for it.
The devs aren't the smartest, or using internet explorer still, so it'll take a while.

It seems peq42 doesn't trust Persona but isn't telling why, which isn't very motivating to listen to. (The conversation may be off-topic for this thread, anyway.)
It's like being paranoid about a local fast food service worker poisoning the food delivery you opted to order, where the risks and penalties far outweigh the abuse.

peq42 I am not asking for more age verification, I am asking for the age verification we have to be utilized more in the ways I listed. I think this would be good for the already 18+ verified community and make adult spaces more cleary defined. If you personally don't trust the age verification system vrchat uses then don't use it.

There have been several articles like this, and others exposing their shady stuff. Not to mention, its extremely easily for kids to get past it. They have and still do.

peq42 The service VRChat uses doesnt collect any data, no images are send and its all done local. also peter thiel owns more then just parts of persona, he own parts of meta & paypal aswel just to give an example.
Also more kids are getting past those pretend to be bouncers at clubs by just straight up lying about their age then get past persona.

peq42 From what i can find, the 2026 code exposure is the only "breach" of any kind regarding Persona. Up till that point there has seemingly been no proof or talk about Persona doing shady business. If you know of other incidents regarding Persona being shady, plz send articles.
Also the code exposure this year seems to have been OpenAI and/or the US gov contracting Persona to built that system for OpenAI services to screen all their users (behind the scenes - indeed shady). Thogh this is just another service Persona can provide if contracted. It doesn't prove Persona collects or sells user data from their other services wthout permission.

But regardless, if you feel that strong about it then make your own VRChat request. Write up the why Persona should get out of VRChat, with all your proof and reasons, instead of posting comments trying to hinder requests that simply try to improving the adult spaces in VRChat through the use of the tools/systems they already have in the game.
This request doesnt talk about adding any "more age verification" it simply uses whats already there.
