%AppData% Isn't For Storage

Can we move the cache out of AppData please? I don't need 10GB+ of maps on my OS drive...
Perhaps use the installation directory or a custom location set by the user. And a "Prune Map Data" button in system would be great.

Agreed, VRChat should have the option to move the cache to the desired location or at least to another HDD instead of the main SSD so we can save all world cache without worry making our SSD full.
last time I open this topic on Reddit and mods removed the post, it says Moderators remove posts from feeds for a variety of reasons, including keeping communities safe, civil, and true to their purpose.
I was a bit disappointed with how great the potential of this game but the VRchat team doesn't seem to care about user feedback and decided to ignore it or just too lazy for any extra work.

I don't understand why this is closed, users should not have to use Symlink to move which drive dozens of GBs are stored.

I don't understand why everyone want a custom location but VRChat just say 'No, we are good'. See, we got 300+ votes on this. VRChat cache take 20+GB data and that reason is enough to let user to choose a custom location. Symlink works but isn't a 'solution' for everyone, a game shouldn't request user to use Symlink. Please, reopen this request, many people will thank you.

VRChat Cache Saving

I would like to say some people have a small SSD or hard drive and may want to save space on that hard drive for their OS for example, my PC has an SSD but the SSD is only meant for the operating system on my PC to load faster and I would prefer to switch the cache to go into my hard drive for example: C: drive = SSD hard drive = D

As much as I hate necro-posting, this is something that NEEDS to be said.
(In response to what Tupper said)
Whether or not the cache is where it's "supposed" to be, it's not where it NEEDS to be. Do you know how often I come across people who don't even know how to clear their cache, let alone symlink? Hell, nearly all of them don't even know how to show hidden files and folders.
What people REALLY want, is to have a choice in the matter. Default it to the appdata folder, sure, but allow those who don't know what the hell they're doing, to choose where the cache file is in an easy to use format.
I can Symlink, that's no problem. We have a lot of people in the community though, who barely know how to even use a computer. Make it easier on them for crying out loud.
Edit: Hell, there's more than 300 votes on this. Come on.

VRChat data location

If you go into your main drive and go to "User < appdata < locallow < VRChat" and inspect the "HTTPCache-WindowsPlayer" folder you can see that vrchat takes quite a lot of space in. I think we should have an option to install the downloaded (world and avatar) data on an alternative drive (or VRChat as a whole.
In my case i only have a small ssd as my main drive and im sure im not the only one. Wiping it everytime is also a pain because than i have to redownloaded avatars/worlds which can also take time.
The Savage
Honestly having a custom cache for this would be great, my appdata is in my OS Drive which is a 128GB Solid State and vrchat frequently needs to get pruned. I'd much rather it go to one of my /three/ other drives with terabytes worth of data free in them.

More excellent if you can MOVE cache directory away from (small) SSD to bigger HDD. The cache will just eat many room and that is not great for small SSD.

I agree with Shanie. Other applications that cache data on the scale that VRChat does (like browsers) cache data with respect to their user's drive space.
Chrome's cache will only ever take up a percentage of available disk space: https://bugs.chromium.org/p/chromium/issues/detail?id=96264#c28
Firefox has a max cache size policy: http://kb.mozillazine.org/Browser.cache.disk.capacity
It is ridiculous that VRChat took up almost half of my available disk space on my SSD. Please implement reasonable caching policies like TTL or LRU.
