"Do Not Disturb" status to prevent people from joining on you directly even if your'e in a normally joinable instance (like a Public World).

An upgraded Busy Status.
This would be functionally the same as the heavily requested "Invisible Status", except you are still broadcasting that you're online, which some people may wish to do.
People will still be able to join on friends of yours in the same instance, or if you're in a public world, randomly make it into the same room by chance.

I want this and think it would be positive for the community and an extremely useful featuew.
Throughout the year ive had people that talked over conversations and joined on me nonstop. Decent people that just didnt know when to stop. It sucks that the only solution is unfriending and blocking.. which often caused a ton of unneeded drama after.
Something simple like this would be a major improvement for me.

Can we get an update on this? I don't see an issue for this and it would seem the only people to complain about the issue are the ones purposely ignoring the busy status and the ones we want to avoid and know of this.

I don’t feel the need for it but it’s a good idea I’ve had as well.

How about this idea instead? https://vrchat.canny.io/feature-requests/p/add-a-stealth-mode-to-allow-people-to-appear-offline
Yours is a great idea, but unfortunately it could result in users being able to soft ban/kick others from instances by setting themselves to Do Not Disturb, and thus locking their friends out of otherwise public instances. A more elegant solution would be a simple Offline status, which will make you totally invisible and ensure you have the space you need. (You can still send invites of course!)
Chdata
Spambob Jimmy: It wouldn't prevent friends from being able to get into those instances - it would only prevent them from being able to get into those instances /through you/.

Chdata: People would still see the world you're in and attempt to join every active instance until they find you, and with less popular worlds that won't be hard. Unless you hide the world you're in completely from the public, and at that point, why not just go with an offline status? :P
Well, either one we go with will be an improvement in the end I guess! Anything to have some breathing room in public worlds again.

good for streamers but I see no other point other than allowing streamers to prevent the instance they are in being flooded with everyone they added
Kitty
to be honest it would be a nice feature to have, and they could just make it turn off upon the user closing the game or restarting.

Great idea, though one potential problem I see, while minor, is that I could easily see someone putting this on, then forgetting they have it on, and friends would be unable to reach that person to tell them if they forgot to turn it off.
Sasha Mason
Ashaka: If there was the ability to send short messages to a person or have some sort of indicator that will remind you that others cannot join you then that would avoid the issue of forgetting it. Or it could just say so somewhere in the menu
Chdata
Ashaka: I think that problem is self-solving.
"Man, no one's been joining me today"
Looks at social tab
"OHHHHH. I was on Busy Status..."
And now that person remembers to pay attention to their status ;p

you do know private world exist? Invite, invite +. those exist for that very reason. it's pointless for them to even spend a minute on this. also you can put your status to Red which means do not disturb.
Chdata
HostileLogOut: This serves a different purpose from both Invite and Busy - though preferably, I'd like them to just make Busy status behave this way.
Lucifer MStar
HostileLogOut: People ignore the do not disturb. I for one would love a feature to show me online but disabled the join button. Maybe I just want to go around public lobbies without having to conversate with friends or tell people i'm in discord just wondering around.
HostileLogOut
Lucifer MStar: that i can highly agree on. having the ability to disable people to join you is a better choice.
Demirramon
It has always been really annoying to have people join your world when your status is don't disturb just cause the world is public, this would be great
