Not only emojis would be great, I would also suggest emote messaging. You type out a sentence and it pops out like an emote. The image is how it could be implemented on the VRChat menu

Should do this. its a great thing for Deaf people to be able to talk to hearing if they don't know how to sign.

AlexYariven UwU: I mean well yeah, but they could limit it to how the current emojis works and have it were you can only upload specific sized imagery, however as Lotus said I could see people abuse it at least in the way of lewd, and inappropriate imagery.

Zakka Ryuu: yeahh but people will still bypass size and stuff tbh, but its literally no difference to normal avatar particle effects other than its easier to use and you dont need to clutter it on one avatar.

Yes please! More functional emojis! We like the ones that are fun too but there is untapped potential here that can be used for signalling as well.
