It would be helpful to be able to create group-moderated instances, which can still be joined by friends of people in the instance (or at least friends of group members in this instance).
This would be useful for open events, where you want to make it easy for folks who haven't heard of the event to join organically and check the event out, but also want to delegate moderation permissions to event staff in the instance.

I am inclined to agree, I am troubled that group-instances are only exclusive to group members only. I'm admin to a rave group, and having a world only exclusive to "group members only" would be antithetical to being open to everyone joining in to experience the rave scene. I suggested being able to join group-instance into a public world, or label public world as group instance.

This is exactly what we need for my game nights! At the last game night we tried using group instances, but this required all attendees to be in the group... we want to encourage inviting friends in a friends+ kind of way.
So for now we're sticking with standard "adding the group organizer as a friend and join the friends+ instance" method.

honestly still pretty surprised that they didn't do it this way. Should be just a simple as having a group instance locked for current behavior, unlocked for friends+ like behavior. With how it works now, there is very little reason to use group instances at all!

Please, please implement this! All we need is an option for “friend invites allowed” when creating a group instance and/or on the role level.
So many clubs, including ours, grow by word of mouth, and inviting a friend while in an instance is so much lower friction than instructing them to join the group, etc. This is the one thing currently holding our club back from dedicated groups implementation.
It would be a game-changer for clubs and the music scene on VRC.

I love the idea of groups but currently cannot use them for the events I throw. What would be great for my club and many other music clubs is, Friends+ Group Instances. This would essentially be a Friends+ instance with Group Privileges given to members. I think VRChat would get a lot of positive feedback for this feature!
