Before the Unity 2018 update rolled out, the loading speed for avatars was pretty good and it didnt create huge lagspikes when done loading. (Faster loading speed especially noticable on cached avatars). With the 2018 update, the speed and performance got pretty bad to the point, where my game nearly crashes when loading into a more populated world like pug or Room of Rain.
Is there a way to get someting like the old system?
