Mic indicator in game

One thing I think needs to be updated is the coloring difference when there is no audio playing through your mic vs when audio is playing in your mic. In some worlds you can’t even tell if your mic is working at all. The color just isn’t drastic enough to tell the difference. I don’t really know when the coloring changed because I do remember it being fine at one point but over time it has gotten to the dimmer state that it is in.

In VRChat 2023.3.2, we added the option to hide your microphone icon while no audio is being detected!🎉
We hope this resolves your issue. Thank you for your request.

I would love this mic logo/indicator to properly feature a 3 color mic level indicator (green-yellow-red) especially for people that like to play instruments or sing in VRC knowing how loud you are transmitting is a great tool

you don't even need to change the color or brightness, you could have two logos to indicate active or inactive mic

Likely Alucard: that would work as well, as long as it is noticeable difference between muted, unmuted with no audio and unmuted with audio anything will work.

Anxy: I see different Icons being the best way at this point. It would still be off to the side and be as subtle. but the swapping of icons would make it easy to tell if it is working or not

Likely Alucard: good point

I preffer it red as it is now. I do not want green or blue or yellow or any other color.
If any colors is going to change it should be customizable by the user. Cause i do NOT want it changed from how it is. Right now its subtle enough to not annoy me when i dont wanna pay attention to it.

SquidNeko: im not saying "make it bright as possible" or "change color" but when its to a point at which u cant tell if ur mic is working or not because their literally is such a subtle color change that doesnt even show up sometimes.

Anxy: I havent really had this problem at all in any world. And i tend to stay in worlds thats red if i can. Cause my eyes like that the most and i like it.
I dont see any fix for this unless users can specify their own colors. But i would hate it bieng changed away from how it is now since i find it perfect.

SquidNeko: the fix is simple.... just a slightly brighter mic button when talking. it has nothing to do with the color itself.

I could be wrong but I think the main reason it's as subtle as it is is because having it be too noticeable would be a little immersion breaking. Turning it off is an option, but some people need to be able to see if their mics are actually working.

Entorix: like i said i dont mind it being subtle... and i understand u want it to not be in the way, but u cant really even see if ur mic is working/manually muted.

Agree, just changing the talking-icon to green will be very helpful
