I know this is coming but figured this might be a good way to track this one! Definitely would be nice to be able to see it in Oculus Home!

VRChat has released on the Oculus Store as of today! https://www.oculus.com/experiences/rift/997678176960598

Now released in Oculus Store.

For now, I think it's worth mentioning that any Oculus users who've had issues with/would like to stay away from SteamVR, or would like to enable the third touch controller waist tracking- should move over to OpenComposite as it provides a direct route from SteamVR apps to the Oculus SDK and is super easy to install. Effectively, for all intents and purposes, OpenComposite will make the VRChat Steam client into an Oculus one without the added strain on the VRC team of having to support an extra VR SDK at this point in time.
You can find OpenComposite here:

Curious about the state of this.

I imagine this 𝙢𝙖𝙮 no longer be much of a focus (if at all), especially if SteamVR seems to cause fewer issues. I personally would prefer less middle-man, but it is understandable. I have some issues inconsistencies that do pop up with no help or as a result of there being a OpenVR/SteamVR middle-man. Thankfully these don't ruin things so much. Opening my menu, Oculus or SteamVR is unpredictable in how it will affect frame-rate at this time in my experience. It, an unfortunate amount of the time, does bring my framerate down to a quarter or half of what I know my hardware is capable of pushing out and would have been just a click before. Random opening and closing of the SteamVR and Oculus menus sometimes fixes this; but more often than not it won't and I have to wait an extended period of time or restart VRChat (not SteamVR).
Just sharing my experience, although better than it used to be.
By far.

well if its still planned after a year u think they are waiting for the new oculus quest ?
owlboy
yeliab_sufur: No.

yeliab_sufur: I wouldn't bet on that one

yeliab_sufur: Think about it. If high end pc's can't run this game at 90fps in most situations, what makes you think a standalone headset with a mobile phone tier processor would be able to run VRChat?

this would be tremendously helpful for people who haven't been able to afford decent graphics cards. I was lucky enough to afford the bare minimum, a 1060, yet because it runs in Oculus VR, AND SteamVR, I find it much more difficult to run because SteamVR seems to hog up a lot of resources. I've opted to build a new PC, where this won't matter, but not everyone is lucky. Some people were only able to get a 1050, 1050 Ti, or a 1060, because of the price inflation.

I'd like to comment again that just an Oculus Runtime release minus the Store would be _fantastic_.

owlboy: that is something that would be good as well, if they have oculus Runtime that would make life even easier actually and take away the need for the store.

Seriously cant wait. I cant stand SteamVR apps and their want for the game and monitor to be on the same card. Oculus does't really have that requirement. And I really REALLY dont want to invest another $100 for a new display that has Display 1.7 ports and then buy a $20 cable just to connect the two, I play plenty of games using oculus itsself that run fine seperated. My work around right now is a awkward one haha, Put my VR on my head above my eyes so I can see my monitor and attempt to play normally, its a difficult thing to do haha and awkward to!

Definitely! Hope this comes some time soon.

Agree. I'd love to be able to have my dash windows visible in vrchat.
