Oh, some clarification:
SDK3 allows users to make their own climbing system (ladders!) and it fixes the 'spamming spacebar to climb' bug.
But it
technically
doesn't implement climbing into the SDK.If a climbing system in SDK3 is still something you'd like to request, please make a new request! Hope that makes sense. ♥

the climbing isn't even supposed to be a thing to begin with though, it's a physics bug, and you can already make ladders by making a ladder model with a proper full mesh collider and placing it at like a 10 degree angle
(unity's collision detection will trigger step-up on each step and walking into the ladder will put you to the top really fast).

It's even worse for the HTC vive because we have to repeatedly click the trackpad with our thumb, which is A LOT HARDER AND MORE PAINFUL THAN PRESSING A SPACE BAR... Upvoted....

Fix the current problems with the player physics and replace them with an explicit ability to climb (see: Climbey, for VR users, the desktop solution must be something else) and a player mod to turn climbing off on a per-world basis.
