Gimbal mode / Mavic mode / Cinematic mode
  • Being able to
    control camera angle separately
while the drone is still kinda floaty or flying in a set direction, is a big part of doing cinematic drone shots. Same with zoom
  • Moreso, using gamepad triggers for changing gimbal angle is
    already ergonomically good
    - triggers are analogue, which allows for slow, smooth, yet variable angle change
  • Also, this style of flying is more beginner-friendly and gamepad-friendly than FPV, which would make drone mode a more desirable feature for many people outside of FPV-community (which means
    💰VRC+ cash💰
    )
  • And, i bet this mode would make a LOT of VRChat content!
Disabling Z-axis while auto-leveling
  • Making it possible to compensate only yaw and roll, would allow for some really cool shots with altitude change
  • (bug?) Whenever i do a slow height change in auto-leveled mode and zero my stick (stop sending inputs to change throttle), drone gets yanked in the opposite direction. Not sure if a bug or misconfiguration on my side
FPV-drone mode suggestions
  • Being able to
    make own drone pickuppable
by either friends or anybody, would allow some cute interactions between a drone operator and their viewers
  • Inclusion of FPV drones with decent physics already provokes drone-based events (racing, freestyle aerobatics), and being able to
    differentiate between different players drones
without looking at nametags is crucial, and can be done with a
    color change
    , and/or, a
    drone model change
    .
  • I can see being able to
    turn off the trail
as a desirable feature for immersion. Probably simple to implement, too!
  • Sharing own drone feed
, if technically possible, would allow to host racing events without an external player
  • Racing feature -
    hitbox tilt
. Usually racing drones are starting while tilted, not vertical. Making it able to tilt drone's hitbox is the simplest way to do it.
Quality of life changes for FPV operators
  • Horizon level
is a widely used feature IRL
  • Switch Auto-Leveling
by a keybind / gamepad button.
