[1744] Ability to Easily Toggle Boop Feature
complete
Felinusfish
Users who may not want to be disturbed by random notifications from their friends on the platform, especially during moments of depression and anxiety. An (emphasis on) EASY toggle to enable and disable the ability for yourself would go a long way to improving this feature, and should be a requirement to have before the feature hits the Live branch.
As for where this could go, the most logical place to locate it would be the profile section somewhere, or within the Comfort & Safety tab as a toggle.

This already exists!
Search for "boop" in your settings, and you can turn off the emoji effect, or turn boops off entirely.

On that note, it would be very cool if the boop button were disabled on people with boops off, kind of like cloning is disabled on people with cloning off.
Right now there's no indication whether a boop is received or not, I foresee this being problematic with particularly needy or fragile friendships who take a lack of response, reciprocal boop, or some other kind of acknowledgement personally.

Thankfully, an option does exist in the settings to do exactly this already
Beyond this, definitely having some sort of option to enable/disable the feature for specific people would be nice. Or some type of silent notification section that you can send them into.

Boxofbiscuits97 Having this be far more easily toggle-able and discoverable would be a beneficial UX change :)

Felinusfish Oh definitely, at the very least it should be mentioned in the announcement for the feature.
Probably even also put into the quick menu settings for ease of access like KirianVR said in their comment.

I feel like putting it in the quick menu (on top of the regular settings where it resides) is about as good as it could be without taking space elsewhere
