[1878] Improve user quickmenu layout [Redesign concept]
Boxofbiscuits97
I feel that 99% of the time you open your quick menu to select someone, it's to show an avatar or send a friend request. The new UI currently shoves all of those user actions into a dropdown menu off the screen when you initially open the menu. This means you have to scroll down every single time, which seems like a small action, but in VR, it can compound with the amount of time people spend in VRChat very quickly.
Here is a proposed revision to the UI to reduce the amount of wasted space while retaining the information presented in the new UI layout and also allowing the first two rows of the buttons to be easily accessed.
It's important to display information about someone to a user, but you shouldn't be adding in more friction to an action that people can perform hundreds of times when in VR.

its incredibly frustrating having to do extra inputs to do basic actions like showing / hiding avatars and text boxes. if i want to look at someones bio, ill open their profile.
more inputs more bad.

Agreed 100% with this. Wasted space in general is a plague. Bigger monitors. Bigger lenses. Higher resolution. Just fill it all with nothing... WHY?
Ever had a lobby of 40 people and that ONE unknown person with an avatar that has a huge white box across half the instance because their shaders are off and the author didn't set an appropriate fallback shader?
Yeah... with the old UI, you could just click on a user in the location/here tab, hide avatar, wait a sec, then return the shield level for that user if it's not them. Rinse-repeat. Having to scroll down every time you do that for 40ish people is a huge pain in the rear.

I shouldn't have to scroll down to turn on someone's avatar

This is WAY better, its good mix of both the new and the old. You can see everything about a user and still be able to interact with their profile without scrolling around.

I honestly think that the button size could be reduced as well, seeing how both the categories and the row with the report button are spaced.

im all for this, but me personally, i think viewing bio in QM is relatively pointless, could reduce clutter more that way

This too. I like having quick access to the buttons. The main reason I open the quick menu is to use the available buttons to mute, lower volume, hide/show avatar, and all the other buttons. Less profile, more buttons.

Upon some further revisions, moving the badges and group out and replacing it with the mutuals definitely helps the design a lot. These elements could possibly be moved to after the bio and only seen after the "read more" is expanded. Ultimately, though, just removing it entirely and having it only in the main profile page is a nicer look.
