Please do not add lootboxes to VRChat

The new "Bundles and packs" feature is not cool.
I don't really care if they are meant to be a path towards real money gambling for VRChat or not, it is close enough of a feature that I will be super uncomfortable with even talking about the game to my friends.
I am a long time vrc+ subscriber because I love this game and community, but anything even resebling lootboxes are unethical and not cool. this kind of gambling only targets people who struggle with it, not the people who can afford it.

We are not planning on implementing loot boxes into VRChat. In VRChat, "Bundles" are packs of items you get together, and have no inherent randomization or "percent droprate" mechanic. They will always contain the same thing for anyone that receives them. There is zero chance or gambling element built into them, and in fact there is no support built into the system for such a mechanic.
These content drops will be first used as a benefit to users that participate in the Pride Charity campaign in June, but will also be leveraged soon as a VRC+ benefit -- every month, you'll get a box full of stuff. Everyone gets the same box, with the same stuff.
VRChat Bundles are a means of delivering content to users without overriding their agency to accept or reject that content.

I see what you are trying to achieve with it, but I think you might need to work on the presentation a bit at the very least.
The way it is presented right now is indistinguishablefrom a lootbox system, which is making a lot of people very uncomfortable.

I'd rather it just be like an actual inventory and items like Steam, not a gacha animation.

I think if vrchat want to stick with the idea of seasonal stickers and stuff a better solution is to add them to the users inventory automatically and possibly give them a notification that they have gotten new stickers for example. The way it is presented right now makes it indistinguishable from a lootbox, even if vrchat doesn't intend for it to be.

Keep in mind that if you do add lootboxes, VRChat will have to change its rating with the ESRB, potentially making it an 18+ game.
