[Discourse/VRChat Ask] Viewing the HTML source or sharing a post reveals the contents of temporarily hidden posts flagged by the community
WubTheCaptain
On the VRChat Ask Forum, when a post is flagged for moderation, its contents are temporarily hidden. However, the post contents are not hidden in HTML source view from
<meta property="og:description">
and <meta name="twitter:description">
when this happens.When a temporarily hidden post is then shared to instant messaging software or shared on social media, the full post will be seen.
Steps to reproduce:
- Post something on the VRChat Ask forums.
- On another account, flag the post for moderation review for a reason (e.g., inappropriateness). The post will become temporarily hidden for everyone.
- On any non-moderator account or as a guest visitor, click the post date for the URL pointing to that temporarily hidden post, then share the URL or view the HTML source of that URL.
Affected URL: https://ask.vrchat.com/t/ai-vrchat-worlds/49088/16
Expected result: Temporarily hiding the post should also hide the post from meta tags.
Actual result: Flagged content is temporarily hidden in body, but not in HTML source or when shared on instant messaging apps/social media, defeating the purpose of temporarily hiding posts.
