Avatars disappearing during lag spikes and teleport
Wunder Wulfe
Avatars of users will disappear or be moved (locally) miles away from their actual character's location until you hide and then reshow their avatar. This occurs when there are lag spikes (other players will be seen being flung around the map locally and some may disappear) or if they are being teleported like in Murder; and if they disappear, you can still see their bubble and nameplate but their voice will be off in the far distance and avatar nowhere to be found.

Sometimes when VRChat is under load, I won't be able to see or hear other people (or they flicker in and out) and they won't be able to see or hear me.
It usually happens when frame time is over 11 milliseconds in a detailed world (Vive runs at 90Hz), and I seem to have occasional success by dropping the render resolution in that case, but when I go to a world that isn't normally loaded and manually increase the render resolution, I can still see other avatars.
This is my third day running VRChat with a headset, so I haven't thoroughly tested this yet. I have tried checking download integrity from steam, clearing VRChat's cache, clearing Steam download cache, reinstalling VRChat, and upgrading my video card driver, but none helped.

temporary resolution is to hide their avatar and un-hide again.

This happens almost every time I join any world now, a friend shows up invisible but their avatar is way off in the distance, I only know where they should be because the nameplate is in the correct location. There doesn't even have to be a lag spike, sometimes it just does that.
