Being able to see who's still loading our avatar
Demirramon
I'm sure almost everyone has gone through this before. There's someone that changes their avatar, and you have to wait until it loads. Then they approach you and do something, and you just look at it confused as you have no idea what it is. Maybe you were the person who switched avatars, and you don't understand the reaction of the other person because you have no idea when your avatar will be ready for them to see, so you just sit there for an eternity until they say something about it.
That's why I thought it would be a pretty good idea to have a way to know who didn't download our new avatar yet. It could be something as simple as, I don't know, a spinning arrow next to the username to anyone that is still loading our avatar. That way, a lot of awkward situations could be avoided, and no one would miss your new super duper cool avatar with that one super amazing animation you just added to it as you would know when they can see it.

yeah i really hate it when a hacker comes into where i'm at and hasn't loaded yet so the instance crash hasn't affected me yet, i'd reeeallly like him to know when we're all good and ready for the crash

dariuskyne: We're going nowhere with such negativity. If someone wants to crash everyone in a room, they will keep trying until it works. Letting them now when it will work for everyone won't make a difference

dariuskyne: It would be stupid to forego implementing a quality of life feature because it might possibly benefit some bad apples. That would be like denying everyone internet access because some people use it to commit crimes.

Yeah, this would be nice. I normally try to gauge it by where people are looking (eg, the loading bar stare), but that only works with certain sizes, and only if they actually do that rather than just waiting.

This happens to me all the time. I usually try to do a loading wheel motion with my hand, but very few people understand that. I could just use my microphone, but it's been damaged and sounds dreadful so I try to keep its use to a minimum.

and would like to know who has me in Safe-mode, aka: Avatar-blocked

Kalista Phoenix: Not too long ago, we discussed it in this thread as well: https://vrchat.canny.io/feature-requests/p/more-robust-block-system-notify-users-if-blocked-user-enters-world. Though I don't think I saw any actual posts on Canny regarding this issue.

This issue happens to me so often that whenever someone with a loading avatar approaches me, I put a finger on my left wrist (like pointing at my watch) and look straight at the loading bar. It's pretty annoying because I have to let others know what's going on, even when I don't want to, especially during the first few seconds after I join the instance.

Pan Diman: Yeah looking at the loading bar is a pretty good way, especially if they have small avatars, since the loading avatar has a set size.
