Change output
Krislyz
It's really annoying to have to restart VRChat everytime I open it up and notice my headphones are not the default device. I'd like to request a feature that lets you change the output device, just like you can change your input (microphone) in the settings.

That is already in the game in Settings
its at the bottom right of the menu and by clicking the Arrows < or > will change it, if you cant be bothered to do this then go like this.
1.
Open Window Settings > Devices > Bluetooth & other devices > Audio :
disable audio of devices you don't want to use and enable those you do.
2.
Open Window Settings > System > Sound > output/input :
set your headphones to the output/input.
3.
Open Window Settings > System > Sound > Manage sound devices :
Disable and enable devices you want to use and not use
VRChat uses what ever you have set for your enabled devices
Observer.
ScrinnodStudios: No, this canny post is for output not input. Input is microphone, output is headphone/speakers. VRChat is yet to fix the output not switching at runtime and there are no options to change output from the in game settings. You have to restart the game to change your output settings.

My post still apply's as i said clearly in number 2
"Open Window Settings > System > Sound > output/input :
set your headphones to the output/input."
It still apply's to what they are asking and my other numbers help as well
VRChat like i said uses what ever you have set for your enable devices so disable devices your not using and enable devices you are using like the headset and it will use your headset for output/input if you have them set to enable and disable the stuff your not using then it will work.
Observer.
ScrinnodStudios: so your workaround is to disable any device you don't want. Does that actually change the output device that vrchat uses?

Observer.:
yes
after you set your output device to your headset you open the game and it works so yes
Krislyz
ScrinnodStudios: That doesn't change the fact that you have to enable it after playing VRChat, which is usually a bother. Sometimes it doesn't even work and I have to restart VRChat anyways.

Krislyz:
Thats why you enable it Before playing or just have 1 device as your output/input like a headset (like headphones or a headset)

Once I tried to connect electronic translators with voice recognition and TTS technology to VRChat. The lack of audio output selection in VRChat did not allow me to fully realize this idea.
In 2018, I already wrote about the problem of the language barrier in VRChat, but the developers do not work in this direction. Therefore, I am trying to connect external voice translators to reduce this problem. But for this I need the possibility to select the audio output in VRChat.

John Smith: what kind of voice translators
John Smith
InactiveCoyote: I tried various voice translators. I use “Google Translate” at this moment. It is not ideal for online games, but in terms of functionality and convenience, it is better suited for VRChat in VR-mode than others. By the way, I've already found a way to get around the restriction due to the inability to select the audio output.
