Personal accessories (ja: 個人アクセサリ)

I would like to make accessories newly as categories such as avatar and world. This is a single object that can be called separately from avatar and picked up etc.
You will not need to upload multiple avatars just to change things like Avatar Pens.
I thank you for reading it through.

I like this idea and an ideal way to implement it is via a new menu you can access just like avatars. Ideally, I think the upload process should use something like maybe "Accessory Descriptor" with the following properties in the component:
Limit to avatars []
(List of avatar IDs the item is limited to)
Spawn local only []
(could have its uses)
Weapon []
(does damage if a user has a new optional pvp mode turned on)
Weapon Colliders[]
(can be a physic collider for melee or a colliding particle system for guns)
Damage[]
(no limitations since you can just block a user who is abusing it with a 1000 damage weapon that reloads instantly)
Vehicle []
(CAN be used with weapon for things such as tanks but allows a VRC station to be added and the item driven around. few properties to control speed and collision bounciness should be added too)
Item Health[]
(If unused item cannot be destroyed. Useful so the item can be destroyed by being damaged too much)
Spawn Already Held[]
(useful so you could make it play an animation and spawn already held in your hand-just for looking cool)
Shareable[]
(All-Friends-Only You - the item can be held and shared between everyone, friends only, or just you)
Spawn limit-
6 max per user at one time
1 vehicle max at one time (maybe due to size count this as 2 items)
2 weapons max (if item is also a vehicle it uses 2 (or 3 if vehicle takes up 2) spaces)
Since the pvp option could be added, maybe add a new option to block user items if they are abusing it.

If this is considered, I'd like to see it with limitations to prevent people from having objects that cause performance issues or even crash people.

Having IK points on the item would be useful as well for auto positioning fingers in the correct manner on curtain objects. IE, if a gun is told to animate its shooting, the ik point for the finger would allow any avatar to pull the trigger with their finger.

hmmm... okay, maybe if there are limits to what it is that you can pull out.
5,000~10,000 poly objects maybe?
its collision (if you can drop it on the ground) should be calculated on the bounding box of the object. (this limits the complexity of the collisions.)
object type trees should also be introduced
for example, a 'weapon' category, and then 'type of weapon'. (such as ranged, melee, or explosive, etc. this category would need a 'handle descriptor' so the game knows where your character grabs the object at. and depending if it's a ranged weapon, it would also need a 'projectile spawn descriptor'
the projectile will need to have its own model, or it will assign a default projectile.
this could also be used for a 'drone' object that follows you around. (drones don't despawn unless you put it away) they lack collision, but try to avoid things with collision. (such as walls) they teleport to you if you get a certain distance away from them (this is for when you go through a door that has collision.)
this could also enable people to give each-other objects, or, if possible, have objects in worlds to give to people. (this could be for people who don't know how to use unity, or modelling software. however the objects you can 'save' are limited, just like the amount of avatars)

Dorrivix: 5-10K Poly per add on is way to high if you want to have multiple items. With the quest in the picture, that's just not possible. I more reusable limit would be 1-5K at the absolute max. Its to easy to decimate a object in blender to justify such a high limit for an add-on. If you don't want VRChat to count this to a models poly limit then its best to keep it at a normal limit
MarVap
Kazari da editor: How about a poly limit on the items? I think having a Inventory Item would make things better for VRChat.
Kazari da editor
MarVap: Thats what I just said, 1-5K limit per add on. I agree this would be a epic feature and I would hope its top priority

Dorrivix:
First of all, no more limits. Polys literally make no difference until you break hundreds of thousands and it starts to consume memory.
Second, making these and keeping them in an inventory but still able to pass them to someone else would be nice.
Third, if categories are introduced, maybe they should also implement a toggleable pvp mode so weapons can be used in any world.
Fourth, vehicle category would be nice too.
Dorrivix
xxx_red_xxx: a limit promotes creativity. besides, you need to render everyone else and the world itself, so you yourself aren't the resource hog.
besides, you want people to see it don't you? what's the use if it's gonna take several hours to load?
xxx_red_xxx
Dorrivix: Limits destroy creativity and I'm not completely against having a few small ones such as max items spawned or max filesize but for god sake no more limits than avatars have (meaning we can use rigidbodies, particles, joints, etc)
Dorrivix
xxx_red_xxx: nope, limits provoke people to work around the limits, thus making a better product while learning what you can do with what you already have.
limits make people think. making people think is better than just mindlessly going off what you already know.
xxx_red_xxx
Dorrivix: also the number of avatars you can have is not limited, I have over 500 and counting.
And limits do promote workarounds but this is not 'creativity' rather than 'trying to find a way to get my item to work'. At least for me, less limits means more creativity since I can freely work as I please and then just directly upload it. Creativity is supposed to be fun and come from... well you. Working around limits is not fun, it's frustrating and limits your own ideas.
And what is going to stop people from modding the sdk like they already do? Surely you've come across at least a couple of those people with 100k+ avatars...
We are entitled to our own opinions, you're free to think limits promote creativity and props to you if they do. Just as I'm free to think that they destroy creativity, which they do for me as I get frustrated and give up.
Humitaxx
i'd really love if you could have a separate section in the sdk to upload items like swords, guns, pens, etc, with its own effects and sounds that can be triggered by a click or some other feature, and you could chose to spawn it whenever you feel like it in a menu, with any avatar, obviously only one at the time and whenever you re-spawn it it'll just teleport to you, but after a few seconds of you not holding it it will de-spawn, it'll de-spawn whenever you spawn other item as well so people can't abuse it, overall this is a great idea that i think a lot of people would love, and like the public avatar cloning thing, i think you could share your items with friends if you want so, and also as a security thing to avoid lag, in the security-tab you could choose to de-activate all items too, or to only see friends' items.
i think that in the end if this gets added, i think the game will get closer to "Ready Player one" in some aspects, and this, combined with possible pvp, it'll get lit
xxx_red_xxx
Humitaxx: Allow a few at a time like maybe 2
If this is added I want to hopefully make functional vehicles AND hold a gun at the same time.
Humitaxx
xxx_red_xxx: i mean yeah, one item per hand would be nice

I miss the inventory system I saw in an early trailer for vrchat. Shame I never had the chance to try it out.

It is similar but different. It does not spawn to the world but functions as an extension of avatar.
それは似ているが異なっています。 ワールドにスポーンするのではなく、アバターの延長として機能します。

I've been asking for this for about a year now. If they ever add something like this, I really hope these items would depend on users rather than worlds.
Demirramon
An inventory to carry a few of these objects would be pretty cool, too
Raidloss
Demirramon: yeah, an inventory that is either tied to one account or to one model. Would Also be nice with an "Inventory descriptor" in the sdk where you can specify where it will be on the humanoid skeleton.
Demirramon
Raidloss: that would be pretty cool! Even though, the first thing to do imo would be to acess it through a button in the menu.
xxx_red_xxx
Raidloss: I'd rather not have the items render on the avatar for performance reasons but maybe a solution that is both VR and desktop friendly would be an inventory button in the menu like avatars and worlds and in there you can select an item.
The inventory descriptor is a good idea and if a pvp system is added a flag called 'Weapon' could be checked to enable the item to do damage.
