WIthin the new avatar menu, it becomes impossible to change fallbacks, whether it's a public/legacy avatar on the Explore tab, or if it's a Fallback avatar uploaded by you.

Since this canny is highly related to deprecation of fallback avatars in this canny , I'm posting to open beta board. I'm proposing fallback avatars that is linked to an avatar, instead of user-selected ones. Currently, all users need to select fallback avatars. However, fallback avatars are not popular feature and most one does not set fallback avatar (uses default randomly chosen fallback). I think this is why VRChat is pushing Imposters, but I feel Imposters have ugly appearance due to mechanism limitations so I want to see & show (properly selected) fallback avatars instead of imposters where possible. To achieve both not requiring setting fallback avatars for most users and seeing Imposters less often, I think it’s good to have fallback avatars linked to an avatar (blueprint id). Creators generally have more knowledge than most players so I think it’s reasonable to ask creators for uploading avatars. Therefore, I'm proposing fallbacks avatars that is linked to an avatar, instead of user-selected ones.

With the recent Open Beta (May 22) and the new Marketplace menu we are now not available to sort our Uploaded avatar lists in any way. Before that you could've sorted them by Date, Last Updated (which is the one i mainly use), Name, Recently Used or even Performance. Sorting is still useful if you have a good amount of avatars and specially useful if you are updating your avatars regularly to add/remove stuff or even looking for optimization. Those options are still available on the Wings menu but please, don't remove them on this new menu.

In the respin of the avatar menu the compact menu option has been removed. It's still available for the world menu, however. The compact menu is crucial for us with many uploaded avatars, at least as long as we lack a proper search feature. Please do not remove it. First two screenshots are open beta, last two are stable. P.S. Another, albeit very minor, regression is that I can no longer tell how many avatars are in my "Uploaded" category on the side tab. It's also no longer possible to switch avatar category/folder when using the 4 columns/row mode when collapsing the left-hand side bar.

VRC Light Volumes is a voxel based light probes replacement for VRChat. https://github.com/REDSIM/VRCLightVolumes Once it's introduced to avatar shaders, their appearance would be amazingly improve in appropriate worlds. Major shaders like lilToon and Poiyomi already support this system in the latest version. It would be great if Toon Standard also support this. Mobile users also can get benefits. Currently if you want to animate most of the features on the new Toon Standard shader any other material on the same mesh will also be animated. It would be amazing if you could have a feature like Poiyomi's rename feature where by renaming the specific component of that shader when animated it will only affect that specific material within the mesh. For example currently if I have an Eye material and a Skin Material on the same mesh and I wanted to have two different floats on my avatar, one for Eye hue, and one for Skin hue using this shader and I animate them accordingly it would not work. Both my Eye and Skin would animate together, and currently the only work around one would have for this is to separate anything that animates the same settings onto separate meshes. I would need an Eye mesh and a Body mesh instead of having them combined on the same mesh in order to have them not affect eachothers animations. https://gyazo.com/54fc87aa945f3821301077af006e7a7d (Visual Example)

It would be great if there is transparent variant of Toon Standard shader for fallback and in-SDK shader. There are many usage of transparent in avatars like: - facial expressions like blushing, heart eyes, shocked face - sun glasses - Manga iconography - fake shadow of hair on the face - Clothings with thin fabric - Hairs, especially bangs transparent/translucent eyes and eyebrows - VRoid Avatars It would be great if we can express such situations with fallback shaders, and if there are such variants, we can make avatars with exactly same looking as fallback and non-fallback shaders. In addition it would be perfect if we can change render queue for transparent materials (including fallbacked ones). Images are provided by ku10by. Thanks a lot. Currently, when using VRCFallback with toonstandard, the fallback shader may appear flat if the original shader doesn't define a _Ramp property, as no ramp texture is assigned by default. It would be helpful to support specifying the shading mode directly in the fallback tag, such as toonstandard_realistic or toonstandard_realisticsoft. This would allow the appropriate built-in ramp to be applied automatically, improving visual consistency in fallback scenarios.

When placing a sticker it would be great to be able to flip the sticker horizontally to "mirror" it instead of having to upload 2 variants of the same image. The same could go for vertical mirror although the user could just turn their controller.

Every time I open VRChat and go to the Avatars tab of the menu, it defaults to the Explore page first. Adding extra inputs and load times when wanting to change avatars. Once you change to the 'My Avatars' tab, the game persists that option for the remainder of the session, though it doesn't save between sessions. Even having an option to choose the default page would be better than what it is now. It's minor, but it's frustrating.
